I made this website so I could share my interest in Astronomy with others.
My hobby is astroimaging, the challenge of capturing images of deep space objects.
It is incredibly satisfying to produce an image of something that you know is “out there” but its either just too small or too faint to be seen with the naked eye. The light that is captured in these images has sometimes taken tens of millions of years to arrive at the telescope. so each image is actually a glimpse into the past.
Above are two images comparing what we can see through the telescope eyepiece versus what the camera can see from the same viewpoint. Our eyes are not sensitive enough to see colour at the low light levels. The camera on the other hand easily detects colour.

If you have a serious interest in astroimaging I suggest you buy this book by Ron Wodaski .
I treat it as my imaging bible
